Welcome to My Yate

Welcome to MyYate, your online guide to events and organisations in and around the town.

The run-up to Christmas has begun, and there are plenty of events to put you in a festive mood. Check out the events calendar for details. There's also a busy season at the Yate Heritage Centre.

Yate Library has now moved into its temporary home. See the library page for information. Also being refurbished is Yate Leisure Centre, which has just opened its new gym - see the news section below.

And finally there are handy motoring tips to keep us safe on the roads.

Please get in touch if you have an event or organisation to promote, and do sign up for our newsletter.

New Gym at Yate Leisure Centre
Yate Leisure Centre's new Active Fitness Centre is now open, with 90 pieces of Technogym equipment, set in all-new surroundings overlooking the swimming pool.
It's part of a £1.8 million refurbishment, which has already seen a new café, customer services area, reception and children’s softplay. New dry and wetside changing rooms and a spinning studio will arrive soon.
The Leisure Centre is offering regular tours of the new facilities and welcome local residents to view come and view their New Active Centre.
A new simpler pricing structure has been introduced in line with the New Active Card scheme, which means local people will be able to get Active for less.

Love shopping? Here's a challenge...
Age Concern South Gloucestershire is launching a new shopping service for older housebound people, and they're looking for volunteers to help make the venture a success. If you are able to spare some time, please contact Susan Rider on 01454 857759.
New, free, map of Yate
We've been busily mapping Yate as part of the OpenStreetMap project, and with just a few streets to go it's looking good. Unlike most maps you'll find of the area, you can copy and reuse this one freely - click the link below to explore the map and find out more. We're also keen to find volunteers to help map the footpath network - get in touch if you're interested.
